Fire

Bold, unstoppable, unforgiving, unpreventable
Loving, compassionate, controllable, our only salvation
Demolishing all who step in its way, leaving no evidence of their life
Licking in the center of the camp, illuminating all in its trail
Ravaging the countryside, leaving none in its trace
Warming those in winter’s clutches, rejuvenating their souls
Annihilating the earthly bounds of the dead and gone
Giving one the power to craft and create
Polluting the land with its vile breath
Showing mercy for the weak and the strong
Leaving many with no skin of their own
Giving just as many a layer of warmth
Finding a way to destroy us all
Finding a way to save us all
Savaging our only hopes
Serving as our only hope
Blazing through our world and homes
Kindling our wishes and dreams
The center of life and death
