Tag Magazine (tagmag.net) launches first worldwide mobile app of its kind!

Edmonton Public Schools’ Tag Magazine is the first student art and literacy magazine with an iPhone/iPad App! Using groundbreaking technology, Tag’s interactive online format engages students, celebrates their creativity and captures a 21^st century approach to literacy. Writing and art can be blogged, downloaded to an e-reader, printed, listened to, or even translated into different languages. With links to Facebook and Twitter, students can share their work in a social media format which ensures they are globally connected.

Submit student work for the 7^th issue of Tag now! Submissions may include art, writing, music, animations or videos. There is no cost to schools and the deadline is November 30, 2011.

Tag, an interactive magazine showcasing student creativity, has a NEW interactive format and is now offered at NO COST to schools!

In line with rapid changes in technology, Tag has once again evolved and its format has become more interactive. Utilizing the technology provided by the same company which provides on-line versions of hundreds of daily newspapers, Tag is the first on-line student literary magazine in their repertoire of publications. Students, friends, and family members can blog, download the magazine to an ereader, print it, listen to it, or have it translated into another language. With links to Facebook, Twitter and more, students can share their work in a social media format that ensures they are globally connected in the 21st century.

Note: To make a comment, for the first time ONLY, you will need to register (FREE) with a e-mail and password. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you, please follow this process. After registering you can make a comment with the same e-mail and password.

Writing for an audience has been identified as a way to increase student engagement and improve student achievement in writing. Tag taps into an authentic worldwide audience via the Internet, offering students the opportunity to share their art and writing through their social networks, read and view exemplary samples created by other students, and receive feedback from around the world. Providing Tag at no cost to schools allows ALL students an opportunity to share their creativity and further develop their literacy skills.
