Fire
It roars, it ravages, it rips through the earth
It lights, it warms, it crackles in the hearth
Fire
Two sides, like that of a coin
If you call one, the other might join
Fire
It flickers, bright, on the wick of a candle
But give it some fuel; it’ll turn into a vandal
Fire
During the cold winter it warms
In the dry summer it harms
Fire
In the forest, it blazes through, destroying all in its awful heat
But when it reaches the ocean it stops, for the water has got it beat
Fire
It can heal our sorrow by cremating the dead
Or burn our homes and kill us instead
Fire
When we’re lonely, it provides a comforting crackle
Scaring away our unique internal jackal
