Artist’s Statement

In this piece of work, I chose to portray fire as something along the lines of regrowth, rebirth instead of destruction. I chose to use the watercolours to fill the fire in to show it as light instead of opaque acrylic paint. I also chose to add a section of water in my portrait which provides life to it.
